Vitamin B4 Powder

Vitamin B4 (Adenine) is the old name for adenine, which is no longer considered a true vitamin and is no longer a member of vitamin B. Molecular formula: C5H5N5 Molecular weight: 135.127 Its trait is: white needle crystal. Sublimation begins at 220 ° C and decomposes at 360-365 ° C. Soluble in acid and alkali, slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in ether and chloroform. The aqueous solution is neutral. Has a strong salty taste. It is obtained by ammoxidation of 4,6-dichloro-5-nitropyrimidine with ammonia to obtain 4,6-diamino-5-nitropyrimidine, which is then cyclized together with formic acid, formamide and sodium thiosulfate. Mainly used for DNA and RNA synthesis, for leukopenia caused by radiation therapy, benzene poisoning and anti-tumor, for acute neutropenia, medical and biochemical research.


It is found in foods such as tea leaves and beet juice. White powder or needle crystal, odorless, melting point 365 ° C, insoluble in cold water, soluble in boiling water, slightly soluble in ethanol, soluble in ether and chloroform. The 4,6-dihydroxypyrimidine can be obtained from diethyl malonate, and then subjected to a reaction such as nitration, chlorination, amination, cyclization or the like to obtain 6-aminopurine.


In earlier literature, adenine was also known as vitamin B4. But it is no longer considered a true vitamin, and is no longer a member of vitamin B. Nicotinic acid and riboflavin, which belong to group B vitamins, can be combined with adenine to form the biologically necessary cofactors nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD).


Function and use


This product is a component of nucleic acids and is involved in the synthesis of genetic material. It can promote leukocyte proliferation, increase the number of white blood cells, and be used to prevent leukopenia caused by various causes, especially leukopenia caused by tumor chemotherapy, and also for acute neutropenia.
